Objective: Identify the microorganisms, the incidence of these pathogens and the antimicrobial susceptibility. Methods: Antimicrobial susceptibility tests from cultures of patients hospitalized in a hospital in the southwest of Paraná were analyzed. The selected period was from March to June 2016. This study analyzed 241 tests, including urocultures, blood cultures and other cultures. Results: The most common bacteria were coagulase-negative Straphylococcus (31.95% of the positive cultures), followed by Escherichia coli (21.16%) and Klebsiella spp. (12.86%). Multirresistance strains were found: 25.9% of the enterobacteria were extended-spectrum beta-lactamases positive. Between the Staphylococcus aureus, 10.5% were carriers of the Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus phenotype. Conclusion: The results are according to the literature, and demonstrated that the multidrug resistance is becoming higher than ever.
