GESTÃO DA EFICIÊNCIA ENERGÉTICA EM EDIFICAÇÕES DAS INSTITUIÇÕES PÚBLICAS DE ENSINO: UM ESTUDO APLICADO AO SISTEMA DE ILUMINAÇÃO DA UTFPR SOB A ÓTICA TÉCNICA E ECONÔMICA

Este trabalho apresenta os resultados de um estudo realizado na Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, Campus
Curitiba, com o objetivo de analisar os atuais padrões de consumo de energia elétrica para iluminação de ambientes de
suas instalações. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio da inspeção de ambientes e análise das faturas de energia
elétrica expedidas pela Copel no período 2000 a 2006. Por meio de indicadores de uso das instalações, foi possível
identificar como o campus se comporta em relação a seus sistemas de iluminação de ambientes. No que diz respeito ao
uso de tecnologias eficientes, verificou-se significativos potenciais de economia de energia elétrica. Sob a perspectiva
econômica, por meio da análise de fluxo de caixa, constatou-se que com baixos investimentos e por meio da
substituição de tecnologias obsoletas, é possível obter-se expressivas economias de recursos no pagamento pelo uso da
energia destinada à iluminação. Tais resultados indicam que ações de conservação e eficientização poderão contribuir
para o melhor aproveitamento dos recursos do Estado.

Much has been discussed, on the rational and efficient use of natural resources, on the importance of energy
conservation and efficiency as a way to mitigate environmental impacts created by expanding energy offers. According
to PROCEL, public and commercial buildings are considered potential sources of energy economy, due to the pattern of
their occupation and use characteristics. This study was carried out at the Technological University of Paraná, Campus
Curitiba, and its main goal was to analyze the current pattern of electric energy consumption for lighting within the
campus. Data collection was made by means of the inspection of workplaces and by the analysis of electric energy bills
issued by the local concessionaire company COPEL in the period between 2000 and 2006. By means of use indicators
of the spaces, it was possible to identify how the campus deals with the use of lighting systems. Regarding the use of
efficient technologies, significant potentials for electric energy savings were verified. From the point of view of
economics, by means of the cash flow analysis, it was noticed that with low investments and replacement of obsolete
technologies, it is possible to achieve expressive savings on energy used for artificial lighting. The results indicate that
actions of conservation and efficiency may contribute for the best use of the resources of the State.
