Este texto tem como propósito abordar o tema da construção de identidade da criança negra, por meio de um olhar para as literaturas que perpassam o cotidiano da escola. Tal abordagem foca-se, fundamentalmente, na possibilidade de refletir sobre a maneira como as literaturas que abraçam a cultura africana permeiam o universo das bibliotecas de sala. Neste contexto, aborda-se o histórico da cultura afro, pensando em questões que contribuíram para que concepções sobre esta cultura fossem formadas.

This text aims to address the issue of identity construction of black children, through a look at the literature that permeate the schools’daily life . This approach focuses primarily on the possibility of reflecting on how the literatures which embrace African culture permeate the world of room libraries (books that are maintened in the classroom so that children can get along with them). In this context, we approach the african culture background, thinking about issues that contributed to conceptions of this culture were formed.
