Pérfida ou ingênua: a visibilidade da mulher paraibana através dos jornais e de casos de rapto – 1880-1910

Pretendemos neste trabalho discutir a construção de outra sensibilidade para as práticas amorosas na Paraíba entre as décadas de 80 e 90 do Séc. XIX e os anos de 1910. Discutiremos através da análise dos casos de raptos consentidos, como foi produzido um emaranhado discursivo que deu visibilidade às práticas amorosas e a construção para uma identidade feminina nesse período. No entanto, também apontaremos como essas mulheres ocupavam um outro lugar, não apenas como vítimas ou seduzidas, mas também sujeitos de suas ações e desejos, uma vez que eram elas que ajudavam a planejar os raptos. A cultura histórica, engendrada pelos processos-crime, pelos romances sobre o tema dos raptos escritos por memorialistas e os jornais de época, com seus artigos acerca do mesmo tema, permitiram problematizar as relações de poder e nelas as estratégias de normatização das relações amorosas e a formatação de um determinado tipo de casamento com seus respectivos papéis: os de maridos e esposas ideais. Mas, os raptos também permitiram que se chegasse à “antidisciplina” e à parte das táticas elaboradas pelos envolvidos para escapar das amarras da ordem, apontando para “as maneiras de fazer”.

In this study, work which I called the “kidnapping granted” in Paraíba, among the 80 and 90 decades of XIX Century and in the year of 1910. The research pointed to a tangled discursive giving visibility to the loving practice and relations of power, present in the practices of “kidnapping granted.” We understand, even if partially, the daily lives of those involved cited for criminal proceedings by kidnappings as well as the networks of relationships between men and women. Thus, we see through all the way that preceded the abductions, as these couples met, which tactics were used and the tricks used to convince each other. Analyzing the abduction as a place of tension that transcend the mere fact of resistance to a patriarchal order, but that also establishes an alternative to the loving practices. And yet, the occupied by women, who showed themselves, throughout the search, not just as victims or seduced but also as subjects of their actions and desires. Therefore, the kidnapping granted in the whole web of relationships that are built around them, and the appropriations which have been made by individuals along the path of kidnappings were a central issue in this study. The historic culture, engendered by the criminal proceedings, the novels about the theme of kidnapping written by memorialists and newpapers of that time, with its articles about the same subject, which allowed to problematize the relationship of power and the strategies of normalization of loving relations and the format of a specific type of marriage with their respective roles: those of ideal husbands and wives. But, the kidnappings also allowed in reaching the “undiscipline” and the tactics prepared by concerned to escape from constraints of the order, pointing to “the ways of doing”.
