Perante o destaque dado pela mídia mossoroense à divulgação de imagens de jovens em situação de risco, este trabalho busca investigar que tipo de representação a mídia local faz destes adolescentes. Pertencentes a famílias pobres, os jornais se utilizam das imagens destes jovens sem nenhum consentimento. Pessoas pobres não costumam questionar os jornais, na maioria das vezes, sequer sabem se têm direito a isto. Para realizar esta análise, é preciso ter conhecimento de que as fotografias, embora sejam consideradas um atestado da realidade, não são um retrato fiel que reproduz o mundo como ele é, e sim, um recorte dele. A partir da análise do discurso das imagens, é possível identificar os fatores implícitos que interferem no resultado do produto fotográfico.
Given the emphasis placed by the media of Mossoró the dissemination of images of young people at risk, this study investigates what kind of representation the local media makes about these teenagers. Belonging to poor families, the newspapers use the pictures of these young people without anyone say anything. Poor people do not usually question the newspapers, in most cases, they do not know if have this right. To perform this analysis, we must be aware that the photographs, although considered an absolute truth, are not an accurate portrayal that reproduces the world as it is, and yes, a cut of this world. From the discourse analysis of the images, one can identify the implicit factors that affect the outcome of the photographic product.
