A description of the general, microscopic and macroscopic characteristics of the wood is carried out, as well as its comparison with literature references for the Rubiaceae genus and family.
Among the characters observed, the absence of axial parenchyma, partially septate fibers and Kribs type I Heterogeneous rays are worth mentioning. Extremely numerous pores, of very small diameter and in frequent radial multiples of 4 or more cells, are important characters in the cross-section of the wood.
