Esta pesquisa busca analisar e catalogar as coleções cerâmicas da Amazônia Central, com ênfase na Fase Guarita, presentes no laboratório de Arqueologia da Universidade Federal do Amazonas, vinculado ao Museu Amazônico, articulando arqueologia, história indígena e o patrimônio digital. Ao fazer isto, este estudo visa democratizar o acesso ao conhecimento arqueológico, aproximando pesquisadores, estudantes e o público não acadêmico em geral, pois ao inserir as peças cerâmicas e seus contextos em um banco de imagens digital, promove-se a preservação e a difusão da cultura dos povos originários. Para isso, foi desenvolvido um sistema de catalogação informatizado, integrando nele coleções já existentes e novas descobertas no acervo digital disponível no site do Museu Amazônico¹. O trabalho também reflete sobre como a historiografia estigmatizou a figura do indigena no Brasil, defendendo assim uma abordagem mais crítica e inclusiva. Neste sentido, o patrimônio digital surge como uma ferramenta de valorização da memória indígena e de fortalecimento da identidade cultural na Amazônia.
This research aims to analyze and digitally catalog ceramic collections from Central Amazonia, with an emphasis on the Guarita Phase, housed in the Archaeology Laboratory of the Federal University of Amazonas, linked to the Museu Amazônico, articulating archaeology, Indigenous history, and digital heritage. By doing so, the study seeks to democratize access to archaeological knowledge, bringing researchers, students, and the general public closer together, since inserting ceramic artifacts and their contexts into a digital image database promotes both the preservation and dissemination of Indigenous people’s culture. For this purpose, a computerized cataloging system was developed, integrating existing collections and new findings into the digital archive available on the Museu Amazônico website. The work also reflects on how historiography has stigmatized the figure of the Indigenous in Brazil, thereby advocating for a more critical and inclusive approach. In this sense, digital heritage emerges as a tool for valuing Indigenous memory and strengthening cultural identity in the Amazon.
