The radiation budget at the surface of the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro was obtained from measurements collected on the radiometric platform located at the top of the IGEO-UFRJ building. The clearness index estimated for clear sky condition was equal to 0.6 and the average albedo was close to 0.12.
