As pessoas com deficiência vêm buscando sua inclusão no mercado de trabalho. O presente artigo mostra a trajetória profissional de uma pessoa cega, utilizando o método de história oral de vida, com objetivo de investigar as barreiras que enfrentam, conforme definição da Lei Brasileira de Inclusão e das Normas Técnicas que versão sobre o assunto, e se houve evolução na retirada das barreiras nos últimos 20 anos. Concluímos que houve avanços na remoção de barreiras, principalmente tecnológicas, arquitetônicas e urbanísticas, mas que a barreira atitudinal ainda é um entrave à inclusão das pessoas com deficiência visual no mercado de trabalho.

People with disabilities have been seeking inclusion in the job market. The present article shows the professional trajectory of a blind person, using the oral history of life method, with the objective of investigating the barriers he faced, as defined by the Brazilian Inclusion Law and the Technical Norms that cover the subject, and if there were changes in the last 20 years. We conclude that there have been advances in the removal of barriers, mainly technological, architectural and urban, but that the attitudinal barrier is still an obstacle to the inclusion of visually impaired people in the labor market.
