Resumo Inglês:

The present article proposes a reflection on the contribution of theology to the History of Education and Science. In this sense, the specific objectives of this article are: to address the social function of theology; to emphasize the contribution of theology to the History of Education; to establish a relationship between theology and science. The purpose of the text is to propose a reflexive analysis of the theme using the bibliographic analysis methodology. This will serve to broaden the understanding of the subject since it raises questions of academic and social interest. It is concluded that theology has a relationship with education, because it has a formed conception of the human being, a philosophy of life, a vision of the world, and longs for the transformation of that being and, therefore, this is a profitable relation for society.
