Pierre Bourdieu, um dos sociólogos mais influentes do século XX, deixou um legado significativo na sociologia da educação. Suas contribuições abrangem uma ampla gama de conceitos e teorias que continuam a moldar a compreensão das dinâmicas sociais e educacionais. Entre as principais contribuições de Bourdieu para a sociologia da educação, destacam-se os conceitos de capital cultural, habitus e campo. O objetivo deste estudo é analisar as contribuições de Pierre Bourdieu para a sociologia da educação. Para tanto, serão exploradas as principais teorias, conceitos e metodologias desenvolvidos por Bourdieu, buscando elucidar sua relevância e aplicabilidade no contexto educacional. Portanto, este estudo se justifica pela relevância social, pois aborda a influência do sociólogo francês Pierre Bourdieu, cuja obra tem impactado profundamente a compreensão das dinâmicas educacionais. Bourdieu desenvolveu conceitos como habitus, capital cultural e campo, que são fundamentais para analisar como as desigualdades sociais são reproduzidas e perpetuadas dentro do sistema educacional. A metodologia utilizada nesse artigo foi de revisão bibliográfica. Em suma, Pierre Bourdieu é uma figura central na sociologia da educação, cujas contribuições proporcionaram uma compreensão mais profunda das relações entre educação, sociedade e poder. Suas principais teorias, como as de capital cultural, habitus e campo, oferecem ferramentas analíticas poderosas para examinar como a educação reproduz ou desafia as desigualdades sociais.

Pierre Bourdieu, one of the most influential sociologists of the 20th century, left a significant legacy in the sociology of education. His contributions span a wide range of concepts and theories that continue to shape understanding of social and educational dynamics. Among Bourdieu’s main contributions to the sociology of education, the concepts of cultural capital, habitus and field stand out. The objective of this study is to analyze Pierre Bourdieu’s contributions to the sociology of education. To this end, the main theories, concepts and methodologies developed by Bourdieu will be explored, seeking to elucidate their relevance and applicability in the educational context. Therefore, this study is justified by its social relevance, as it addresses the influence of the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, whose work has profoundly impacted the understanding of educational dynamics. Bourdieu developed concepts such as habitus, cultural capital and field, which are fundamental to analyzing how social inequalities are reproduced and perpetuated within the educational system. The methodology used in this article was a bibliographic review. In short, Pierre Bourdieu is a central figure in the sociology of education, whose contributions have provided a deeper understanding of the relationships between education, society and power. Its key theories, such as cultural capital, habitus, and field, offer powerful analytical tools for examining how education reproduces or challenges social inequalities.
