Since Faust reached the dimension of myth through Goethe‘s drama there has
been many texts that deal with the one from the German poet. The aim of this
work is to examine how it is processed the resumption of the Goethean Faust by
Fernando Pessoa in his work Faust: subjective tragedy. For this, we rely on the
concept of hypertextuality proposed by Genette. Pessoa does what the French
theoretician defines as "the art of making the new with the old", and shows us a
Faust in a new guise.
