Este trabalho é resultado da pesquisa objeto da dissertação de mestrado intitulada “educação sexual: representações sociais de professores(as) de ensino fundamental”, que teve como objetivo principal analisar as representações sociais que os(as) professores(as) de ensino fundamental de escolas públicas têm sobre a educação sexual. participaram vinte professores(as) que estivessem ou não trabalhando com o conteúdo de educação sexual nas suas disciplinas. os dados foram coletados através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas, na perspectiva da análise de enunciação e tiveram como suporte teórico as representações sociais de serge moscovici. os resultados revelaram que os professores(as) possuem uma representação ambígua em relação à educação sexual, ou seja, ao mesmo tempo em que reconhecem a importância de se realizar a educação sexual na escola (imagem positiva), denotam a falta de preparo deles(as) para realizar tal tarefa (imagem negativa).

This work is the result of the research object of the master's dissertation entitled “Sex education: social representations of elementary school teachers”, whose main objective was to analyze the social representations that elementary school teachers of public schools have about sex education. Twenty teachers participated, whether or not they were working with the content of sex education in their subjects. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, from the perspective of the enunciation analysis and had as theoretical support the social representations of serge moscovici. The results revealed that teachers have an ambiguous representation in relation to sex education, ie, while recognizing the importance of conducting sex education at school (positive image), denote their lack of preparation ( as) to accomplish such task (negative image).
