A FLUTUAÇÃO NO USO DO MODO NO SUBJUNTIVO: UMA ANÁLISE FUNCIONALISTA EM REDAÇÕES DE ESTUDANTES DO ENSINO MÉDIO

O presente trabalho está voltado para a análise da Flutuação de uso, do modo subjuntivo, nas produções redações dos alunos do 3° ano do ensino médio da rede pública de ensino, da região metropolitana de São Luís, Maranhão. O termo Flutuação está sendo empregado para indicar a diversidade no uso do verbo no modo indicativo em sentenças que poderiam ser expressas no modo subjuntivo, por exemplo. Numa sentença do tipo “diante desse cenário precisamos que o presidente ajuda a combater o corona vírus” o verbo em destaque também pode ser flexionado no modo subjuntivo, sendo que essa oposição se encontra relacionado com o grau de certeza/incerteza que se quer imprimir ao enunciado. O objetivo deste trabalho é descrever a ocorrência da Flutuação do modo subjuntivo nas redações dos estudantes do ensino médio. Os autores que dão suporte teórico ao trabalho são: Givón (1984, 1995, 2001) e Neves (2000, 2002, 2004, 2006), dentre outros que discutem os referenciais teóricos do funcionalismo norte-americano, com destaque para a gramática da língua portuguesa em situações concretas de uso. Os procedimentos metodológicos são de base qualitativa, tendo como princípio de coleta de dados a partir dos textos produzidos por esses estudantes. Para este trabalho, selecionamos 2 (dois) textos e deles destacamos os seguintes enunciados: “Para combater o contágio do corona vírus é preciso que lavamos as mãos” (Aluno A); “O presidente que se cuida, porque nós estamos cansados” (Aluno B). A análise revela a presença da Flutuação nos 2 (dois) enunciados destacados, conforme podemos comprovar nos seguintes fragmentos: “Para combater o contágio do corona vírus é preciso que lavamos as mãos”; “O presidente que se cuida, porque nós estamos cansados”. Nessas sentenças o verbo poderia ser flexionado no subjuntivo. Essas ocorrências colocam em questionamento as formas dos modos indicativo e subjuntivo usadas pelos estudantes do ensino médio, as quais poderiam ser trabalhadas nas aulas de Língua Portuguesa e Produção Textual a partir dos próprios textos dos estudantes.

The present work is focused on the analysis of the Fluctuation of use, in the subjunctive mode, in the productions of the students of the 3rd year of high school in the public school system, in the metropolitan region of São Luís, Maranhão. The term Fluctuation is being used to indicate the diversity in the use of the verb in the indicative mode in sentences that could be expressed in the subjunctive mode, for example. In a sentence like “before this scenario, we need the president to help fight the corona virus”, the verb highlighted can also be inflected in the subjunctive way, and this opposition is related to the degree of certainty / uncertainty that one wants to convey to the enunciated. The objective of this work is to describe the occurrence of the Fluctuation of the subjunctive mode in the essays of high school students. The authors who give theoretical support to the work are: Givón (1984, 1995, 2001) and Neves (2000, 2002, 2004, 2006), among others who discuss the theoretical references of the American civil service, with emphasis on the grammar of the language Portuguese in concrete situations of use. The methodological procedures are of qualitative basis, having as principle of collection of data from the texts produced by these students. For this work, we selected 2 (two) texts and we highlight the following statements: “To combat the contagion of the corona virus, we need to wash our hands” (Student A); “The president who takes care, because we are tired” (Student B). The analysis reveals the presence of Fluctuation in the 2 (two) highlighted statements, as we can see in the following fragments: “To combat the contagion of the corona virus, we must wash our hands”; "The president who takes care, because we are tired". In these sentences the verb could be inflected in the subjunctive. These occurrences call into question the forms of the indicative and subjunctive modes used by high school students, which could be worked on in the Portuguese Language and Textual Production classes from the students' own texts.
