Este artigo pretende evidenciar uma crítica à sociedade ocidental do final do século XX por meiodo filme Gummo, de Korine. Para tanto, utilizam-se conceitos de Nietzsche com a finalidade de aproximar os enunciados do filme da crítica moral empreendida pelo filósofo ao modo de vida do homem ocidental. Por meio da Análise do Discurso pretende-se explicitar a construção discursiva dotexto audiovisual e os efeitos de sentido provenientes dessa construção. A crítica destacada neste artigo: a falta de vontade de potência, o último homem e o ressentimentopresentes no contexto (pós-modernidade) no qual o filme está inserido.
This article aims to highlight a critique on the Western society of the late twentieth century through Korine’s movie Gummo. Therefore, we use concepts of Nietzsche in order to approach the film speeches and the philosopher’s moral critique on Western man’s way of life. We used discourse analysis to explain the discursive construction of the audiovisual text and the effects of meaning from this construction. The critique highlighted in this article: the lack of will to power, the last man and the resentment in the post-modern context on which the film is inserted.
