O presente manuscrito tem por objetivo compreender a indagação “por que Joãozinho não sabe ler?” feita por Hannah Arendt em seu ensaio sobre “A crise na educação” (2013). No fato de Joãozinho não saber ler estão as preocupações dos atuais debates educacionais, preocupações que consideram Joãozinho como um não sabedor e, muitas vezes, desconsideram ou desconhecem a conjuntura estrutural que não consegue fazê-lo saber ler. Não queremos encontrar culpados, mas pensar as raízes do problema, pois, há aqui mais do que a enigmática questão de ele não saber ler, o que, traz à tona a crise na educação contemporânea. Nesse sentido, primeiramente buscamos investigar as raízes da crise na educação, para, num segundo momento, ter luzes para entender a enigmática questão: Por que Joãozinho não sabe ler?
This manuscript aims to understand Hannah Arendt's "why Johnny does not know how to read?" In his essay on "The Crisis in Education" (2013). In the fact that Joãozinho does not know how to read are the concerns of the current educational debates, concerns that consider Johnny as an unknowing and often disregard or ignore the structural conjuncture that can not make him know how to read. We do not want to find guilts, but to think the roots of the problem, because there is more here than the enigmatic question of him not being able to read, which brings to light the crisis in contemporary education. In this sense, we first seek to investigate the roots of the crisis in education, so that, in a second moment, we have the light to understand the enigmatic question: Why does not Johnny know how to read?
