O presente estudo avaliou diversas fontes da literatura que associaram o Transtorno Obsessivo Compulsivo (TOC) com as medidas de prevenção e controle vinculadas ao período de pandemia do COVID-19. Tem como objetivo compreender as influências que este contexto exerceu sobre os diversos âmbitos da doença, desde a epidemiologia ao tratamento. Frente ao exposto, surge a necessidade de investigar alguns aspectos da saúde mental da população inserida neste contexto, especialmente dos pacientes previamente diagnosticados com Transtorno Obsessivo Compulsivo. Ao analisar o material selecionado, notou-se que a tensão, o medo de contaminação, o fluxo intenso de informações acerca do assunto e o estresse relacionado ao período desempenharam importante interferência nos quadros prévios de TOC, além de precipitar manifestações psiquiátricas em pacientes inicialmente hígidos. Na maior parte das observações, constatou-se que houve exacerbação tanto dos quadros de Transtorno Obsessivo Compulsivo quanto dos outros transtornos psiquiátricos que podem ocorrer em associação a este, como o Transtorno de Ansiedade Generalizada. Considerações devem ser feitas a respeito do tratamento do TOC diante da atual conjuntura mundial, adequando-o sem prejudicar o prognóstico deste paciente.
This study evaluated several sources in the literature that associate Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) with prevention and control measures linked to the pandemic period of Corona Virus Disease - 2019 (COVID-19). The main goal is to understand the influences of context on different areas of the disease, from epidemiology to treatment. In view of the above, there is a need to investigate some aspects of population’s mental health in this context, especially of patients previously diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Analyzing the selected material, it was noted that tension, fear of contamination, the intense flow of information about the subject and the stress related to the period played an important role on previous OCD pictures and on precipitating psychiatric manifestations in initially healthy patients. In most of the observations, it was found that there was an exacerbation of both Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and other psychiatric disorders that may occur in association with it, such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Considerations must be made regarding the treatment of OCD in the face of the current global situation, adapting it without affecting the prognosis of this patient.
