Este trabalho tem como objetivo examinar o texto “O ataque”, de Luiz Ruffato, publicado no segundo volume da pentalogia Inferno Provisório, indagando acerca da possibilidade de haver, em sua composição, estruturas da chamada literatura fantástica. Para tanto, o analisamos à luz dos preceitos do gênero estabelecidos pelo teórico búlgaro Tzvetan Todorov. Pensamos, ainda, qual seria a relação das lascas de fantástico que compõem o texto com o contexto sociopolítico característico da década de 1970 no Brasil.

This work aims to examine the text “O ataque” by Luiz Ruffato, published in the second volume of the pentalogy Inferno Provisório, inquiring if there is, in its composition, structures of the so-called fantastic literature. For this purpose, we analyzed it in the lights of the precepts of the genre established by Tzvetan Todorov. Furthermore, we reflected about what would be the relation between the chips of fantastic that comprise the text and the sociopolitical context in Brazil during the 1970s.
