A presente pesquisa, intitulada “Limitações do Portador de Necessidades Especiais Auditivas quando da sua Inserção na Escola, no Trabalho, bem como sua Relação com a Família”, tem como objetivos: verificar como os surdos se comportam em relação às dificuldades enfrentadas no período escolar e quando se inserem no mercado de trabalho; a aceitação da criança surda por parte da família; suas relações sociais. Foram entrevistados 30 sujeitos de ambos os sexos, na faixa etária dos 10 aos 40 anos, utilizando-se como instrumento de coleta de dados, uma entrevista semi-estruturada através da Libras (Linguagem Brasileira de Sinais). Esta pesquisa foi realizada na APADAL (Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Deficientes Auditivos de Londrina), no ILES (Instituto Londrinense de Educação de Surdos) e na Congregação da Pequena Missão para Surdos. Todos os dados foram analisados quantitativamente e qualitativamente. O método utilizado foi o de Pesquisa de Campo. Foi verificado, ao final desta pesquisa, que a deficiência na comunicação é a maior dificuldade enfrentada pelos surdos.
This research, entitled “Limitations of the Hearing-Disabled Individual when Entering School, Work, and Their Relationship with Their Family”, aims to: verify how deaf individuals behave in relation to the difficulties they face during school and when entering the job market; the acceptance of deaf children by their families; and their social relationships. Thirty subjects of both sexes, aged 10 to 40 years, were interviewed, using a semi-structured interview in Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) as the data collection instrument. This research was conducted at APADAL (Association of Parents and Friends of the Hearing-Disabled of Londrina), ILES (Londrina Institute for the Education of the Deaf) and the Congregation of the Little Mission for the Deaf. All data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The method used was Field Research. It was found, at the end of this research, that communication deficiency is the biggest difficulty faced by deaf people.
