O presente texto argumenta que a narratividade é uma prática social, uma mediação entre os acontecimentos e o público. Ao contrário do estruturalismo que viu a narrativa como um gênero discursivo, defende-se aqui que a noção de Narrativa, entendida como uma forma de representação dos acontecimentos reais ou imaginários, é uma estrutura cultural mais abrangente, de origem psicológica e universal. Para tanto, revisa-se a seguir as principais contribuições teóricas para os Estudos Narrativos e se redefine narrativa como a mediação dos acontecimentos.

The media narrative: mediation of events. This paper argues that the narrative is a social practice, a mediation between the events and the public. Unlike structuralism that saw the story as a discursive genre, it is argued here that the notion of narrative, understood as a form of representation of real or imaginary events, _ is a more comprehensive cultural structure of psychological and universal origin. Thereto, as follows, one revises the main theoretical contributions to the Narrative Studies and redefines storytelling as mediation of events.
