O artigo analisa o Projeto de Ecodesenvolvimento da FEEMA (Fundação Estadual de Engenharia do Meio Ambiente) nas favelas do Rio de Janeiro entre 1979 e 1984. Inspirada no paradigma das mobilidades, a pesquisa revisita o projeto, seus relatórios e uma entrevista com o coordenador do projeto. A análise destaca como o movimento de pessoas, ideias, políticas e investimentos viabilizou o projeto, enfatizando a importância da mobilização comunitária para garantir investimentos em infraestrutura urbana e abordar e contrapor a imagem da favela como área de risco.
This article examines the Eco-development Project undertaken by FEEMA (State Foundation for Environmental Engineering) in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro between 1979 and 1984. Inspired by the mobilities paradigm, the research revisits the project,its reports, and an interview with the project coordinator. The analysis highlights how the movement of people, ideas, policies, and investments made the project feasible, emphasising the critical role of community mobilisation in securing urban infrastructure investments and in challenging the dominant image of the favela as a risk area.
