Este artigo analisa a publicação de resumos dos institutos federais (IFs) nos anais das reuniões anuais SBPC no período de 2008 a 2013 e busca caracterizar essa participação a partir das seguintes variáveis: quantidade de trabalhos por IF; ano; quantidade de autores em cada trabalho; natureza da autoria principal; grande área e área do conhecimento a que pertence o trabalho. Concluiu-se que as publicações dos institutos federais na SBPC têm em sua maioria a autoria principal de alunos das regiões Norte e Nordeste, e são da área da educação, sendo um importante incremento para publicação dos resultados de trabalhos de iniciação científica.
This article analyzes the publication of abstracts from Federal Institutes (FI) published in the annual meetings of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC, in Portuguese) from 2008 to 2013. It characterizes this participation based on the following variables: number of works by FIs; year; number of authors in each work; information on the main authors; area and area of knowledge in which the publication belongs . The survey shows that most publications of Federal Institutes in SBPC have students from the North and Northeast regions as main authors. Also, as they are mostly in the educational area, they represent an important increase in publications of undergraduate research studies.
