O copo-de-leite é uma flor de corte bastante apreciada na composição de arranjos florais e de
jardins. O cultivo de copo-de-leite é susceptível a pragas que prejudicam a planta, e a falta de tecnologias para o seu controle é preocupante pelo aumento do uso indiscriminado de inseticidas. Em São João Del Rei, Minas Gerais (21º 08' 00" Sul, 44º 15' 40" Oeste) foi registrada pela primeira vez a ocorrência do percevejo fitófago Parafurius discifer (Stäl, 1860) (Hemiptera: Miridae) atacando plantas de copo-de-leite no Brasil. Essa espécie tem potencial de ser praga de copo-de-leite e, portanto, prejudicar essa planta ornamental. Um melhor conhecimento dessa espécie poderá ajudar na busca por alternativas de controle mais efetivas e sustentáveis.

The calla lily is a cut flower highly appreciated in the composition of floral arrangements and
gardens. The calla lily is susceptible to pests that affect plant and the lack of technologies for pest control is difficult due to the increase in the indiscriminate use of insecticides. In São João del Rei, State of Minas Gerais (21º 08' 00" S, 44º 15' 40" W) it was first recorded the occurrence of phytophagous bug Parafurius discifer (Stäl, 1860) (Hemiptera: Miridae) attacking leaves of calla lily in Brazil. This species has the potential to be a pest of calla lily and therefore damage this ornamental plant. A better knowledge of this species could help in the search for alternative control more effective and sustainable.
