The paper presents the original meaning of religion unveiled by the ethical relation in which the face of the other expresses the trace of God that emerges without, however, making it possible to thematize or to know Him. From this perspective, and as it is proposed by Levinas, philosophy must constantly be unsaid by an ethical saying.
