O presente trabalho busca contribuir para reflexão acerca do papel da igreja evangélica, o Corpo de Cristo, no quesito dos direitos das crianças em situação de desproteção social, bem como, seus desdobramentos na sociedade. Foi realizada pesquisa de campo com 59 cristãos evangélicos de denominações diferentes, na qual, extraiu-se uma pequena amostra e índice do nível de envolvimento deste público em causas sociais em prol de crianças e adolescentes em situação de risco social e o entendimento bíblico acerca do tema. O trabalho aponta histórico dos avanços em direitos e situação da criança e adolescente no Brasil nos dias atuais, e como a igreja pode contribuir às mazelas da sociedade para o público infanto-juvenil. Mostra a urgente necessidade da intervenção religiosa nessa causa, visto que a Igreja é procurada pela sociedade como acolhimento seguro para essas demandas.
This paper seeks to contribute to reflection on the role of the evangelical church, the Body of Christ, in the issue of the rights of children in situations of social vulnerability, as well as its consequences in society. Field research was conducted with 59 evangelical Christians of different denominations, in which a small sample and index of the level of involvement of this public in social causes in favor of children and adolescents in situations of social risk and the biblical understanding of the subject were extracted. The work points out the history of advances in the rights and situation of children and adolescents in Brazil today, and how the church can contribute to the ills of society for children and adolescents. It shows the urgent need for religious intervention in this cause, since the Church is sought by society as a safe haven for these demands.
