O estudo objetivou construir uma tecnologia educativa voltada para segurança do paciente na Unidade de Cuidados Intermediários Neonatal Canguru. Desenvolveu-se um Estudo Metodológico em uma maternidade pública, no período de novembro a dezembro de 2015. A tecnologia desenvolvida foi um calendário anual, enfocando 12 passos para a segurança do recém-nascido: 1 - Identificação do Recém-Nascido, 2 - Higienização das Mãos, 3- Segurança na Utilização de Sondas, 4 - Controle Térmico, 5 - Transporte Seguro, 6 - Mãe envolvida na segurança do Recém-Nascido, 7 - Comunicação Efetiva, 8 - Prevenção de Quedas, 9 - Prevenção de Lesões de Pele, 10 - Segurança na utilização de Tecnologias, 11 - Sinais de Alerta e 12 - Alimentação Segura. A tecnologia construída mostrou-se adequada para a clientela a que se propõe. O calendário constitui instrumento de conteúdo pertinente e válido no que diz respeito à segurança do recém-nascido na unidade.

The study objective was to build a focused educational technology for patient safety in the Intermediate Care Unit Neonatal Kangaroo. We developed a methodological study in a public hospital in the period from November to December 2015. The technology developed was a schedule, focusing on 12 steps for the safety of the newborn: 1 - Newborn Identification, 2 - Hygiene Hands, 3- security Probes Use, 4 - Thermal Control, 5 - safe Transport, 6 - Mother involved in security Newborn, 7 - Effective Communication, 8 - Falls Prevention, 9 - Skin Injury Prevention, 10 - Security in the use of technology, 11 - Warning Signs and 12 - Food Safe. The technology built proved to be suitable for the clientele that are proposed. The timing is appropriate and valid content instrument with regard to the safety of the newborn in the unit.
