This paper proposes a study about the certification by Enem of the students at the intermediate level of the Federal Institute of the State of Espírito Santo (IFES) concluded in the year of 2015, and the relation between the variables belonging to the Microdatas of the National High School Examination (Enem) available in the Inep portal. The objective of this study is to identify which main variables interfere significantly in the certification or non-certification of the students from IFES. The results indicate that the chance of non-certification by Enem of a student who dropped out and / or failed in school at some point is approximately 3 times the chance of a student who has never dropped out and / or failed. It was also possible to verify that the chance of non-certification by the Enem is higher among the students who attended elementary school only in public schools. From the results, it is expected that the interference of external factors in students' performance can be explored and educational policies can be expanded to reduce their effects.
