Resumo Português:

A pesquisa em questão tem como objetivo, descrever os aspectos literários que compõe a obra As Intermitências da Morte, e tem como proposta apresentar um estudo sobre a vida e a obra do escritor português José Saramago, bem como a realidade e a ironia implícita no romance, além de aspectos narracionais singulares de Saramago e da Literatura Contemporânea. A pesquisa se justifica, pela necessidade de conhecer melhor a obra do autor José Saramago, bem como tecer um vínculo entre a temática e a sociedade, sendo a mesma de caráter universal. Para realizar este recorte usou-se de estudos comparativos através de consultas a publicações nacionais e estrangeiras sobre literatura e a inter-relação entre história, sociedade e arte. Os estudos nos levam a afirmar que este romance pode ser enquadrado como minucioso, e detalhista, suas características estilísticas são notáveis, a sua escrita por se pautar também nos movimentos vanguardistas, e quanto à estética do seu texto se encontra fora na maioria das vezes fora da norma de estruturação formal de um romance. O autor nesta obra induz os leitores a reconhecerem seu ponto de vista acerca de segmentos da sociedade e também construir suas próprias opiniões, conhecendo assim tanto a visão do autor em relação a determinados aspectos sociais, quanto o contexto no qual a obra está inserida.

A JOURNEY THROUGH THE NARRATIVE OF JOSE SARAMAGO’S WORK DEATH WITH INTERRUPTIONS
This research has the objective of describing the literary aspects that are part of the book Death with Interruptions, and proposes to present a study about the life and works of the Portuguese writer José Saramago, as well as the reality and implicit irony in the novel, besides unique narrative aspects of Saramago and of the contemporaneous literature. It is justified by the need of knowing Jose Saramago’s work better, as well as to weave a link between the subject and the society, his work being of universal character. Comparative studies were used to make this clipping, through Brazilian and foreign publications about Literature and the inter-relationship among History, Society and the Arts. These studies lead us to affirm that the mentioned novel can be framed as a detailed and thorough. Its stylistics features are notable, as well as his writing, founded on the vanguardist movements. The aesthetics of his texts are, in most cases, out of the standard structure of a novel. The author, in this book, leads readers to recognize their points of view about segments of the society and also build their own opinions, knowing so the author’s view regarding to determined social aspects, related to the context where the work is inserted.
