UMA EXCURSÃO MILAGROSA NO PAÍS DAS QUIMERAS: UMA BREVE ANÁLISE DO FANTÁSTICO EM CONTOS MACHADIANOS

Este texto pretende demonstrar uma breve análise literária dos contos O País das Quimeras (1862) e Uma excursão milagrosa (1866) de Machado de Assis, sob a luz dos estudos sobre o gênero fantástico de Todorov (1975) e Furtado (1980), produzindo, também, um breve cotejamento acerca das semelhanças e diferenças encontradas nestes dois contos machadianos, sobretudo pontuando algumas modificações relevantes na reescritura desta narrativa. Por fim, procura-se confrontar alguns estudos sobre a crítica social e a intertextualidade nos contos abordados, buscando compreender pontos críticos da narrativa machadiana que evidenciem a função transgressiva do gênero fantástico.

This paper aims to demonstrate a brief literary analysis of the stories of The Country Chimera (1862) and A miraculous tour (1866) Machado de Assis, in the light of studies on gender fantastic Todorov (1975) and Furtado (1980), producing also a brief about mutual comparison of the similarities and differences in these two tales Machado, especially scoring some significant modifications in the rewriting of this narrative. Finally, we seek to confront some studies of social criticism and intertextuality in the stories discussed, seeking to understand the critical points of the narrative Machado showing the transgressive function of the fantastic.
