Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar, a partir da leitura do poema "Nosso
Tempo", a maneira como a poesia de Carlos Drummond de Andrade retratou o “homem
partido” da década de 40. Através de uma leitura minuciosa dos elementos constituintes do
poema, é possível perceber que o momento histórico que o poeta reproduz representa, de
maneira clara, a fragmentação e a alienação do homem pelo mundo capitalista que cada vez
mais se firmava historicamente e socialmente. Dentre todos os poemas do livro A Rosa do
Povo, de Carlos Drummond de Andrade, “Nosso Tempo” é o mais enfático na análise crítico-
social da coisificação da vida cotidiana da sociedade da época. Uma sociedade fragmentada,
mutilada, torturada, insensível e alienada que está presente em quase todos os poemas do livro.
Nota-se isso a partir do título e de seu texto carregado não só de crítica social, mas também do
sentimento de revolta frente aos conflitos que assolavam a época. Diante disso, o presente
trabalho busca perceber como Drummond não só retrata a sociedade, mas também o homem do
mundo capitalista fragmentado e pulverizado. O trabalho se fundamenta nos seguintes teóricos:
Candido (2004), Achcar (1993, 2000) e Correia (2009).

This work aims to analyze, from the reading of the poem "Our Time", the way in
which the poetry of Carlos Drummond de Andrade portrayed the "party man" of the 40s.
Through a detailed reading of the constituent elements of the poem it is possible to perceive that
the historical moment that the poet reproduces represents, in a clear way, the fragmentation
and the alienation of the man by the capitalist world that increasingly was established
historically and socially. Among all the poems in the book The Rose of the People by Carlos
Drummond de Andrade "Our Time" is the most emphatic in the social critical analysis of the
quotidian life of society at the time. A fragmented, mutilated, tortured, insensitive and alienated
society that is present in almost every poem in the book. One can note this from the title and its
text, which is not only a social criticism, but also from the feeling of revolt at the conflicts that
raged at the time. The present work seeks to understand how Drummond not only portrays
society but also the man of the fragmented and pulverized capitalist world. The work is based
on the following theorists: Candido (2004), Achcar (1993), Achcar (2000) and Sant'Anna
(1980).
