A utilização de objetos históricos ou do nosso cotidiano, aos quais chamamos de cultura material é o que discutiremos neste artigo. Diferentemente dos documentos escritos que largamente tem sido utilizado nas aulas de história, pouco tem se refletido sobre o uso de objetos materiais no ambiente escolar como recurso didático para alunos dos anos iniciais. Tendo em vista o leque de possibilidades da sua utilização como recurso pedagógico pretendemos demonstrar o potencial uso da cultura material não só como instrumento educacional, mas também como veículo para a valorização da história local e da memória individual e coletiva.
The use of historical objects or of our daily life, which we call material culture is what we will discuss in this article. Unlike written documents that have been widely used in history classes, little has been reflected on the use of material objects in the school environment as a didactic resource for students in the early years. In view of the range of possibilities of its use as a pedagogical resource, we intend to demonstrate the potential use of material culture not only as an educational tool, but also as a vehicle for the valorization of local history and individual and collective memory.
