Neste artigo, o autor investiga elementos da Geografia da Religião na religiosidade
chinesa a partir de um vislumbre do uso metafórico da água em escritos confucionistas
e taoÃstas. O objetivo é mostrar como elementos ambientais podem ter contribuÃdo
de forma decisiva para a gênese das religiões chinesas e para o pensamento religioso
chinês, que é plasmado fundamentalmente pela percepção dos ciclos da natureza.

In this article, the author investigates elements of the Geography of Religion in Chinese
religiosity from a glimpse of the metaphorical use of water in Confucian and Taoist writings.
The goal is to show how environmental factors may have contributed decisively to the genesis
of Chinese religions and the Chinese religious thought, which is fundamentally shaped by the
perception of the cycles of nature.
