Este artigo mostra os embates entre associações preservacionistas que tem denunciado a ocupação de forma desordenada e a conseqüente destruição da orla marítima no município de Itajaí (SC); as empresas do ramo imobiliário; e o poder público. Estes embates têm início nas últimas décadas do século XX, e se acirram com a pressão de empreiteiros e empresários para a liberação destas áreas de preservação e a construção de empreendimentos imobiliários de luxo nas praias do município de Itajaí (SC). Analisa os discursos que aparecem nas mídias contemporâneos sobre a Praia Brava e o Canto do Morcego, e as relações, denúncias e envolvimento das associações, no Tempo Presente.
This article shows the conflicts between preservationist associations which has denounced the occupation of disorderly manner and the consequent destruction of the maritime edge in the city of Itajaí (SC); the real estate companies and the government. These conflicts started in the last decades of the XX century and were intensified with the pressure of the builders and managers for the clearance of these conservation areas and the building of real estate luxury in Itajaí county beaches. Analyses the speeches that appears in the contemporary media about Praia Brava and Canto do Morcego, and the relations, complaints and the involvement of associations, in the present time.
