O objetivo desta pesquisa é compreender os usos políticos das indulgências no contexto do movimento religioso que ficou conhecido por Reforma Protestante, levando em consideração as negociações e acordos firmados em nome das diferentes pretensões. Os autores que compulsamos para enquadrar teoricamente o nosso objeto de estudo foram Delumeau (1989), Rops (1996), Skinner (1996), Febvre (2012), Marshall (2017) e Lindberg (2017). A principal conclusão deste estudo é que as críticas luteranas às cartas de indulgências expuseram o verdadeiro motivo por detrás deste sistema engendrado no âmago da Igreja o qual possuía teor político.
The aim of this research is to understand the political uses of indulgences in the context of the religious movement that became known as the Protestant Reformation, taking into consideration the negotiations and agreements signed on behalf of different claims. The authors we compulsed to theoretically frame our object of study were Delumeau (1989), Rops (1996), Skinner (1996), Febvre (2012), Marshall (2017), and Lindberg (2017). The main conclusion of this study is that the Lutheran criticism of the letters of indulgences exposed the true motive behind this system engendered at the heart of the Church which had political tenor.
