The research explored the scientific production that existed between 2005 and 2016, in order to analyze how health education is offered to the professionals of the area in several countries and what are the most recurrent teaching-learning methodologies. For the study, we used the mechanisms of selection of the seven stages of the integrative literature review, executed in the Web of Science platform. Of the 348 articles selected, 46 were in line with the proposed goal after applying the inclusion / exclusion criteria. The findings evidenced that the qualitative aspects of permanent education are a recurrent concern of the selected researches. By treating what is produced as a teaching-learning methodology for professionals and students in this large area, it is understood that the tendency, based on this sample, is the progressive dissemination of actions promoting permanent education, allowing a deep interaction between teaching and service.
