Resumo Português:

Este estudo foi realizado pelas acadêmicas do segundo semestre de Licenciamento em
Letras, na Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso (UNEMAT), com o intuito de realizar uma
pesquisa que evidenciasse todas as etapas da 5ª edição do Vocabulário Ortográfico da Língua
Portuguesa (VOLP). Com a aplicação deste estudo ficou claro que o Acordo Ortográfico teve
como seu principal objetivo tentar unificar a língua, procurando assim facilitar os acordos
econômicos e políticos internacionais. Observou-se no decorrer dos estudos que houve
resistências oriundas dos países envolvidos pelo acordo, e que tais resistências adiaram o seu
vigor, tendo em vista que era necessário o aval da maioria dos envolvidos. Evidentemente a
língua é um fator de discordância, pois é ela que define a autonomia de uma nação, a
unificação da língua na sua forma escrita é um benefício a todas as nações que só será
valorizado após serem tomadas as devidas adequações. O estudo enfatiza que toda mudança
sofre com impactos, toda mudança gera desconforto e desagrada a muitos, porém é necessária
e irrevogável, ou seja, sendo o acordo bom ou não, trazendo benefícios ou não ele existe e terá
que ser aplicado e cabe aos países lusófonos se adequarem a tal situação.

Resumo Inglês:

This study was developed by academics of the second semester of Degree in Letters of
Mato Grosso State University (UNEMAT) with the aim to research all the steps of the 5th
Edition of the Orthographic Vocabulary of Portuguese Language (VOLP). In this research we
verified that the aim of the Orthographic Agreement was to unify the languages to facilitate
the economics agreements and the international policies. During this study we notice that
there was resistance from the countries involved by the Agreement and the resistance
postponed the practice of the new orthography. This study emphasis that every change goes
through tribulations, causes discomfort and displeases many people but this change of the
language is necessary and irrevocable, in other words, being the orthographic agreement good
or not, bringing benefits or not it exists and has to be applied and it’s up to the lusophones
countries adapt itself to the situation.
