Resumo Inglês:

The Begonia rex is an ornamental species interior vegetatively propagated. In vitro regeneration of this species was obtained by petiole culture in complete MS medium supplemented with three concentrations of naphthalene acetic acid (ANA) (0.01 mg / l, 0.1 mg / l, 0.5 mg / l) combined with four concentrations of kinetin (KIN) (0.1 mg / l, 0.2 mg / l, 0.5 mg / l, 1.0 mg / l) or only MS with potato extract (15% and 20%) or coconut water (15% and 20%).

The results indicated that it is possible to regenerate  Begonia rex  only with coconut water in the absence of phytoregulators in MS basic medium, obtaining 40% of complete plants in DM + 20% coconut water. With the use of 0.1mg / l KIN and 0.01mg / l ANA, 100% of complete plant regeneration was obtained. The combination of 0.01 mg / l ANA with 0.2 mg / l and 0.5 mg / l KIN resulted in the regeneration of 80% and 83% of complete plants, respectively.
