O trabalho analisa os impasses e problemas conceituais envolvidos na
discussão da relação entre agronegócio e agricultura familiar no mundo capitalista
contemporâneo. O autor propõe uma interpretação que possa superar uma visão
muito presente na sociedade brasileira (em especial, nos movimentos sociais de
luta pela reforma agrária e em alguns segmentos acadêmicos) de que as formas
familiares de produção na agricultura são inconciliáveis e incompatÃveis com o
desenvolvimento do agronegócio. Para tanto, o trabalho discute como,
internamente ao agronegócio, em relações de seleção/exclusão, se desdobram
diferentes formas sociais de produção.
This study analyses the dilemmas and conceptual problems present in the
discussion concerning the relationship between agrobusiness and familiar
agriculture, in the contemporary capitalist world. The author proposes an
interpretation that can exceed the idea, very common in the Brazilian society
(specially in social movements that struggle for land reform and in some academic
segments) that asserts that the familiar forms of production in agriculture are
incompatible with the current development in the agribusiness sector. So, the
study discusses how, internally to the agribusiness, in relations of
selection/exclusion, different social ways of production take place.
