Reconhecida mundialmente como a cidade maravilhosa, a urbanizada cidade do Rio de Janeiro também abriga uma rica, diversificada e invisibilizada produção agrícola. A partir de pesquisa qualitativa realizada com métodos etnográficos – registro audiovisual, entrevistas com produtores agrícolas, observação participante –, revisão bibliográfica e documental, o presente artigo aborda a resistência das práticas agrícolas na cidade, mais especificamente no Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca. Com o objetivo de debater a dicotomia rural-urbano, destacamos a relação entre o campo e a cidade, tradição e modernidade, produção agrícola e conservação da natureza.
Known worldwide as the wonderful city, the urbanized city of Rio de Janeiro also shelters a rich, diversified and unseen agricultural production. Qualitative research was the method used on this paper, with ethnographic methods - audiovisual records, interviews with agricultural producers, participant observation – and bibliographic and documental review. This article approaches the agricultural practices resistance at the city, more specifically at the Pedra Branca State Park.
