O texto apresenta reflexões e resultados de pesquisa teológica sobre aspectos da situação gerada pelos efeitos da pandemia causada pela COVID-19 no Brasil e no mundo. Metodologicamente, a análise foi estruturada em três momentos. Um primeiro que indica os diferentes reflexos da pandemia nas vivências religiosas, realçando a presença simultânea de formas religiosas obscurantistas e de outras que se caracterizam pelo diálogo com as ciências e pela maturidade da responsabilidade social. Um segundo momento descreve em síntese o entendimento acerca das expressões espiritualidade e alteridade, focos da reflexão proposta. O terceiro mostra como aspectos da pandemia interpelam as relações básicas da constituição humana, como as que marcam o encontro do ser humano com o outro que lhe é diferente, do ser humano consigo mesmo, o encontro com o corpo, com a natureza e com a história, e o encontro humano-divino em sua multiformidade.

The text presents reflections and results of theological research on aspects of the situation generated by the effects of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 in Brazil and worldwide. Methodologically, the analysis was structured in three stages. A first that indicates the different reflexes of the pandemic in religious experiences, highlighting the simultaneous presence of obscurantist religious forms and others that are characterized by dialogue with the sciences and by the maturity of social responsibility. A second step briefly describes the understanding of the expressions spirituality and otherness, which are the focus of the proposed reflection. The third shows how aspects of the pandemic challenge the basic relationships of the human constitution, such as those that mark the encounter of the human being with the other that is different from him, of the human being with himself, the encounter with the body, with nature and with nature. history, and the human-divine encounter in its multiformity.
