O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar a evolução da concentração na indústria brasileira de produção de cerveja no período de 1989 a 2011, segregando-o entre dois períodos: antes e depois da fusão que originou a AmBev. O estudo procura mostrar os antecedentes à criação da AmBev, bem como o comportamento do setor depois da sua criação. A análise permitiu a conclusão de que houve aumento da concentração durante o período referido, como também houve significativo impacto do surgimento da AmBev no mercado.

This article analyzese the evolution of the industrial concentration in the brazilian brewery industry, between 1989 and 2011, segregated in before and past the fusion that created AmBev. This study seeks to show the market brewer before the creation of AmBev, as well as behavior of this sector after its creation. The analysis allowed to conclude that there was an increase of industrial concentration during that period, and that the emergence of AmBev had impacted in the market.
