O aleitamento materno é a mais sábia tática natural de vínculo, afeto, assistência e nutrição para a criança e constitui a mais sensível, econômica e eficaz intervenção para minimizar a morbimortalidade infantil. Objetivou-se discutir a produção científica de enfermagem sobre o aleitamento materno a partir de uma revisão da produção no período de 2007 a 2017. As buscam ocorreram na base de dados Bireme. Da análise dos artigos emergiram 03 núcleos: aleitamento materno, desmame precoce e o cuidado da enfermagem. Verificaram-se com as literaturas examinadas as evidências sobre os benefícios da amamentação, tanto para a criança quanto para a mulher, assim como a importância da assistência da enfermagem no estímulo ao aleitamento materno evitando assim o desmame precoce.

Breastfeeding is the wisest natural tactic of attachment, affection, care and nutrition for the child and is the most sensitive, economical and effective intervention to minimize infant morbidity and mortality. The objective of this study was to describe and discuss the analysis of the nursing scientific production on breastfeeding according to a systematic review of the production from 2007 to 2017. The searches were conducted in the Bireme database. From the analysis of the articles emerged 03 nuclei: breastfeeding, early weaning and nursing care. The literature examined the evidence on the benefits of breastfeeding, both for the child and for the woman, as well as the importance of nursing assistance in stimulating breastfeeding, thus avoiding early weaning
