Em maio de 2018 a população brasileira vivenciou um ambiente de incerteza com uma greve geral nacional chamada de “Greve dos Caminhoneiros”. Nesse cenário, com os caminhoneiros em greve, muitos alimentos não chegaram com a mesma frequência ao varejo supermercadista. O presente artigo propõe analisar a variação do preço da cesta básica antes e depois da “greve dos caminhoneiros”. Realizou-se coleta de dados nos varejos supermercadistas antes e depois da referida greve. A metodologia está baseada na proposta pelo DIEESE (2009). O resultado apresentou uma alta de 5,20% em toda cesta básica. No entanto, conforme análise comparativa com os anos anteriores, não houve influência da greve na oscilação dos preços da cesta básica.
In May 2018 the Brazilian population experienced an environment of uncertainty with a national general strike called the “Truckers' Strike”. In this scenario, with the truckers on strike, many foods did not reach the supermarket retailers as often. This article proposes to analyze the variation of the price of the food parcel before and after the “truckers strike”. Data collection was carried out at supermarket retailers before and after the strike. The methodology is based on the proposal by DIEESE (2009). The result showed an increase of 5.20% in all food parcel. However, according to a comparative analysis with previous years, there was no influence of the strike on the price fluctuation in the food parcel.
