ANÁLISE DO EQUILÍBRIO EM PACIENTES HEMIPARÉTICOS COM INTERVENÇÃO DA REABILITAÇÃO EQUESTRE

O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar, através da Escala Funcional de Equilíbrio de Berg e SF- 36, a
influência da reabilitação equestre no tratamento dos distúrbios do equilíbrio em pacientes hemiparéticos. Trata-se de um relato de casos atendidos no Centro de Reabilitação Equestre da UNOESTE, onde foram avaliados três indivíduos hemiparéticos com distúrbios de equilíbrio, antes e após oito sessões de equoterapia, seguindo um mesmo protocolo de tratamento. Os resultados mostraram que houve uma melhora de 7,14% no indivíduo 1, representando 4 pontos do total da escala. O indivíduo 2 manteve-se dentro do nível de corte não podendo ser classificado com déficit de equilíbrio significativo e o indivíduo 3 permaneceu abaixo do nível de corte como na avaliação inicial. A reabilitação equestre mostrou-se relevante no tratamento de distúrbios de equilíbrio em pacientes hemiparéticos.

This research was conduced to analyze, based on the Berg Balance Scale and SF-36, the influence of
equestrian rehabilitation in the treatment of balance disorders in hemiparetic patients. It is a case report conduced at UNOESTE Equine Rehabilitation Center, where three hemiparetic patients with balance
disorders were evaluated, before and after eight hippotherapy sessions, following the same treatment
protocol. The results showed a 7.14% improvement in one patient, representing 4 points in the total scale. The second patient was within the cut-off value, so this one cannot be diagnosed with significant balance deficits, and the third one remained below the cut-off value as in the first evaluation. The equestrian rehabilitation was very important in the treatment of balance disorders in hemiparetic patients.
