This work consisted of this analytical work by chemical methods of the main wood components of the Hovenia dulcis thunb species . (Rhamnaceae). As the broad-leaved species, the total extractive fractions, lignin and ashes, were within normal values. Celluloses and sugars of the hexose types showed high levels, showing that the species presents the feasibility of use as raw material for industrial purposes, such as paste for paper and products derived from the saccharification of its wood
