The general, macroscopic and microscopic characters of the Inga striata Benth wood are described . (Leguminosae Mimosoideae). Quantitative data are provided on the cell elements constituting the secondary xylem and photomicrographs of the wood. The anatomy of the wood of the species studied is compared with the existing literature on the genus Inga .
