This paper describes the anatomy of the wood of C assia corymbosa Lam. (Leguminosae Caesalpinioideae), an ornamental shrub of yellow flowers popularly known as "Fedegoso". Among the main anatomical features observed are the presence of short vascular elements, small diameter and with simple perforation plate, heterogeneous type II rays, non-septate libriform fibers, and paratracheal axial parenchyma of little abundance
