The present work describes the anatomical structure of the wood and bark of Prockia crucis L. , Flacourtiaceae. Quantitative and histometric data are provided for the secondary xylem, as well as illustrations of wood and bark. The wood of Prockia crucis presents striking features that fully agree with the typical structure of the family Flacourtiaceae. For the first time in the genus Prockia, very thin spiral thickenings were observed in the cellular wall of vascular elements and the occasional presence of fibers with calcium oxalate crystals in chambers. The presence of sclerenchyma elements: fibers, sclerites and sclerotic crystalline cells with monocrystals, maclas or drusas of calcium oxalate were observed in the hard liberation.
