General, macroscopic and microscopic characters of the secondary xylem of Mimosa crude Benth. Are described , and quantitative, stereological and photomicrographs of the wood are provided. The anatomical structure is analyzed from the taxonomic point of view, being recognized characters that allow the inclusion of the species in the series: Stipellares Benth., Of the genus Mimosa L.
