The woods Didymopanax morototonii (Aubl.) Dcne are described. & Planch and Pentapanax warmingianus (March.) Harms in their general and microscopic aspects. The two species resemble the most important characters mentioned in the reading for the Araliaceae family . Didimopanax morototonii presents ornate intervessel stitches, usually in a scalariform arrangement and with scalariform perforation plates in the vessels. Pentapanax warmingianus is distinguished by non-ornate intervular points, rounded or polygonal, and predominantly simple perforation plates
